Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) has been awarded the “2013 Florida Worksite Wellness Forum Award” by The Florida Heart Research Institute, in partnership with the Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade, an initiative of the Miami-Dade County Health Department. MCH was selected for demonstrating its commitment to employee wellness practices and programs that produce positive health outcomes.
Miami Children’s Hospital Among Parents Magazine’s ‘Best Children’s Hospitals’
Parents magazine has included Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) in its 2013 listing of “Best Children’s Hospitals,” following an extensive survey conducted by the publication. MCH is the only children’s hospital in Florida to make the extended list, which includes 25 children’s hospitals from throughout the country.
All 66 surveyed hospitals are members of the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions.
MIAMI CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL RECOGNIZED BY COMPUTERWORLD AS A 2013 COMPUTERWORLD HONORS LAUREATE
IDG’s Computerworld Honors Program has announced Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) as a 2013 Laureate. The annual award program honors visionary applications of information technology promoting positive social, economic and educational change.
Most recently, MCH launched a state-of-the-art Telehealth program, which utilizes mobile apps, interactive robotic devices, mobile medical carts, medical kiosks and more to support physicians in other countries in managing complex pediatric cases and patients with limited access to healthcare.
MCH Awarded the Microsoft Health Users Group 2013 Innovation Award
PatientPoint® and Miami Children's Hospital® (MCH) were announced winners of the Microsoft Health Users Group 2013 Innovation Awards for "Innovation in Patient Engagement" based on MCH's use of the PatientPoint Care Coordination Platform 2.0. The awards are presented annually to healthcare organizations and their technology solutions partners that best demonstrate industry leadership in using technology to achieve innovation excellence.
Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) Research Institute has been awarded full re-accreditation from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc., (AAHRPP) following a site visit in June.
Miami Children’s Hospital Research Institute is one of 11 children hospitals in the nation to have achieved and to maintain AAHRPP accreditation.
Once again Miami Children’s Hospital Research Institute demonstrated that we have a systematic, comprehensive program that affords protections for all research participants. This requirement spreads the responsibility for research protections over the entire organization.
MCH Butterfly Garden Takes Wing

The MCH GREEN TEAM (grounds maintenance team) is proud to announce the certification of our new Butterfly Garden as “ a garden which provides resources that increase the world’s population of butterflies” stated by the North American Butterfly Association. The garden is registered in the USA as a natural habitat; please stop by and visit at the South East Corner of the MCH main campus.

Intensive Care Units at Miami Children's Hospital Receive Three Beacon Awards for Excellence
Miami Children’s Hospital’s (MCH) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) have each received a Gold Beacon Award for excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). MCH’s Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) has received AACN’S Silver Beacon Award for excellence.
MCH is one of only three children’s hospitals in the nation to be awarded Gold and Silver Level Beacon Awards for all of their ICU’s and the only children’s hospital in Florida to receive this distinction. This recognition puts MCH among the top children’s hospitals in the country and demonstrates organizational commitment to critical care excellence.

Miami Children’s Hospital has been recognized by the Joint Commission Resources and their Flu Vaccination Challenge Team as a Gold Level Award Recipient in their 2011-2012 Season Flu Vaccination Challenge. Over 2,000 organizations participated and were classified under one of three categories: Gold, Silver or Bronze. The Gold Level certificate, their highest level recognition, is awarded to organizations who achieved a compliance rate of 95% or greater with influenza vaccination of their employees and staff.
