MIAMI — Maria Lina "Bing" Wood, MSN, ARNP, Administrative Director of Critical Care at Miami Children's Hospital (MCH), is the recipient of the 2011 Leadership Award presented by the South Florida Organization of Nurse Executives (SFONE). The award is presented annually to a nurse executive from Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach counties who demonstrates visionary leadership, professional and community involvement, and has had a significant impact on the practice environment.
Ms. Wood has been a leader not only in South Florida but in projects that are having an impact on nursing around the country. “Bing is a remarkable leader who has spearheaded many key initiatives that are enhancing care practice for children throughout the region and around the world. We are fortunate to benefit from her commitment to excellence in all things,” said Jackie Gonzalez, ARNP, MSN, NEA-BC, FAAN, Senior Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer at MCH.
