For how many Jewish genetic diseases can you be screened through the Victor Center? *


1 in ___ Jews* is a carrier for at least one JGD.
*Jews refers to 90% of American Jews who are of eastern or central European ancestry (Ashkenazi).

The 19 genetic diseases for which you can be screened at the Victor Center are preventable. *



All it takes is a simple blood test to find out if you are a carrier for a JGD. *



One of the three ways to get screened for these diseases is by your primary care physician or OB/GYN. *



If you are a carrier, it’s important that your partner is also screened. *



If you are Jewish and in an interfaith relationship, you still need to be screened. *



The Victor Center provides financial aid for screening for those who are uninsured or underinsured. *






1 in 4 Ashkenazi Jews is a carrier for at least one of 19 preventable genetic diseases. A simple blood test is all it takes to find out if you are a carrier.
