The Fellowship program is designed around twelve monthly rotations including three elective months and one month of vacation. The rotations are:
· Neuroradiology with advanced imaging in PET/CT and functional MRI
· Body CT and MRI
· Musculo-skeletal: This rotation includes interpreting radiographs, CT and MRI’s as well as performing MR arthrograms
· Fluoroscopy-Nuclear Medicine including PET
· ICU (PICU/NICU/CICU)-Radiography that includes ER
Strengths of the program include a very busy neuroradiology service, epilepsy clinic, excellent and busy genetics service, sports imaging and birth mark program with a multidisciplinary team that meets bi-monthly. The department also has a dedicated vascular technologist. Cardiac MRI is offered as elective however Cardiac CT and plains radiographs are part of the rotations. In house moonlighting is available.
Educational activities include daily conferences with many different clinical services that include general surgery, neurosurgery, urology and nephrology, gastroenterology. A weekly “one hour dedicated" radiology conference (Radiology Grand Rounds) is held every Wednesday. Bi-monthly lectures are given by the radiologists as well as monthly journal club and daily ICU rounds. Protected academic time is required with warranted participation in at least one project and protected time off to present the project in a medical meeting.
