Each year, over 5,000 children are evaluated in the cardiology outpatient department. There they are diagnosed and treated as outpatients when possible and referred for inpatient testing as indicated. Diagnostic tests include full non-invasive diagnostic studies, including electrocardiography, doppler-flow, echocardiography, stress testing, holter and event recorder monitoring, and fetal and transesophageal echocardiography. Outpatient procedures may include catheterizations or minor surgical procedures. All of these services are provided with expertise at Miami Children’s Hospital.
