“Joshua was born with an unknown disorder. He had his first "clinical" seizure July 2005. From July 2005 to January 2006 he was put into four different medical comas to stop his seizure activity. He was airlifted to your hospital January 2006 and was in a coma until March 2006, when brain surgery was performed. Joshua will never be a "normal" child but he is here because of God and Miami Children's Hospital. Joshua's liver was failing, his lung collapsed and his brain started to atrophy. It did not look good but he pulled through because of your PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) staff and Dr. Resnick. That hospital is the only place I will take Joshua. Everything that we have been through has been life changing. My husband dropped his career and immediately started nursing school when we returned home. He graduates December 2011 and the first hospital he wants to apply to is Miami Children's. “
