Carmen is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and serves as Program Coordinaor of The Craniofacial Center at Miami Children's Hospital. She graduated from Florida International University, Miami, Florida, with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing. Carmen is responsible for the management of children with craniofacial anomalies and various genetic conditions as well as their outpatient and inpatient management. She is also in charge of directing and developing new ways of management and treatment for children with craniofacial anomalies. As program coordinator, Carmen is responsible for the management of the overall program structure, administration, and direction. Carmen is the Florida Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association Regional Coordinator for the South Florida area (Dade and Monroe Counties), and was a board member of the Florida Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association -Nurse Counselor until 2002.
