Certification Examination Passing Rate
This program is robust in educational activities designed to emphasize high-yield pediatric board exam topics. These include morning report discussions, noon core curriculum lectures, interactive board review sessions, yearly in-training exams, OMT review sessions, and self-directed learning tools such as the AAP Prep Online questions. Additionally, the PL3s residents are required to attend the 3-day Board Review Course offered through the MCH’s Annual Pediatric Postgraduate Course. This comprehensive review is designed for pediatricians who are preparing for initial certification or recertification in Pediatrics.

Miami Children’s Hospital boasts the highest ABP passing percentage of all Florida programs from 2008-2010.  AOBP board pass rates have been 100% in the past three years.  ABP board pass rates have ranged from 85-95% in the past six years.  Graduating osteopathic residents are eligible and encouraged to take the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics (AOBP) certifying examination in Pediatrics and the ABP certifying examination.
