For Miami Children's
Hospital rheumatology patients, summer is the time for Camp Funrise,
the first camp in Florida for patients with arthritis and related
conditions. Camp Funrise is a free camp for children ages 8 to 12.
The camp aims
to foster independence in a controlled environment for children
who cannot attend a regular camp due to their special needs. Medical
care is available for campers if needed. The week-long, sleep away
camp provides both support and recreational activities like visits
to Miami Seaquarium, swimming with dolphins, and nature activities.
Camp Funrise
is sponsored by Miami Children's Hospital and the Florida Chapter
