Miami Children's Hospital Based Office Practice:

Jesse Reeves-Garcia, MD, FAAP
Director of the Division of Gastroenterology
During the last decade, Dr. Reeves-Garcia has been a vital contributor to the burgeoning practice of pediatric gastroenterology in Miami. He is now serving as the Director of the Division of Gastroenterology. Board Certified with a special interest in children with feeding disorders, Dr. Reeves-Garcia has served as Nutrition Support Consultant for Miami Children's Hospital, as well as Gastroenterology Lab Coordinator since he began his practice of gastroenterology in 1987. Lectures include topics such as acute gastroenterlitis and nutritional support in the critically ill pediatric patient. His various publications center on topics ranging from enteral feeding in the home to children with recurrent abdominal pain.

 


 

William I. Muinos, MD, FAAP
Associate Director of the Division of Gastroenterology
Dr. Muiños completed a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology at Emory University where he focused his research activities on nutritional support for children with congenital heart disease and failure to thrive. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology. Dr. Muinos has lectured extensively in the field of pediatric gastroenterology on topics ranging from gastroesophageal reflux to hapatitus B. He has brought his knowledge and expertise to countries with poor medical facilities, as well as being active in Miami's medical community. Most recently, he authored a study on nutritional patterns of adolescent athletes where he explored drug use, as well as training techniques in this group.

 

 


Erick Hernandez, MD
Director of the Liver Diseases Center
Dr. Hernandez received his medical degree from the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba. He completed his pediatric residency at Miami Children’s Hospital, followed by a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Yale University School of Medicine. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology. Dr. Hernandez has been included in the “Best Doctors in America” database and is highly active in pediatric clinical research. He has published many medical journal articles and made numerous presentations related to his work. Prior to joining Pediatric Gastroenterology Associates, Dr. Hernandez was affiliated with the Liver Intestinal Rehabilitation Program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, serving as hepatologist.



 


Roberto Gomara, MD
Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Center
Dr. Gomara earned his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, Carribean. He completed his residency at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Center in New York and his fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, New York. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology and has special interests in IBD, peptic and acid-related diseases, and eosinophilic esophagitis.
