American Board of Pediatrics Certification Examination Passing Rate
This program is robust in educational activities designed to emphasize high-yield pediatric board exam topics. These include morning report discussions, noon core curriculum lectures, weekly interactive board review sessions, and self-directed learning tools such as the AAP Prep Online questions. Additionally, the PL3s residents are required to attend the 3-day Board Review Course offered through the Miami Children’s Hospital’s Annual Pediatric Postgraduate Course. This comprehensive review is designed for pediatricians who are preparing for the American Board of Pediatrics certification or recertification examination.
These efforts have greatly contributed to the high scores received by MCH residents on the American Board of Pediatrics Intraining Examinations and the high passing rates on the ABP Certification Exams. In fact, 100 percent of the 2002 graduates who took the Pediatric Board Exam passed on their first attempt. Board passing rates in the last three years have ranged from 85 to 92%. Miami Children’s Hospital boasts the highest ABP passing percentage of all Florida programs from 2005-2007
