- Nursing Leadership Council
The Nursing Leadership Council ensures that functions/projects are assigned to appropriate councils and that duplication is avoided. All councils have a similar level of authority for the functions/projects assigned. Each council is accountable for making decisions, sharing information, and recommending or implementing (where appropriate) regarding the functions/ projects assigned to that council. Patient care leadership and staff must trust that the councils will act within their levels of authority and within their defined functions in order to facilitate decision making and to avoid duplication and delays. Key issues from councils are reported at the monthly Nursing Leadership Council. The Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer provides oversight for all councils and has the authority to commence a final ruling. Unit based councils report to the primary council with meeting minutes and representation.
