Info Alley

From basic parenting information to updates in the latest treatments for childhood diseases like leukemia, Info Alley, the Family Resource Center at Miami Children's Hospital, serves the health informational needs of parents, family members and the community.

Since March of 1999, Info Alley's mission is to provide a place for parents and families to learn about their children's health, normal growth and development, healthy lifestyles, and diseases affecting the pediatric and adolescent age groups.

The center includes a library of books and magazines, videotapes and other audiovisual materials, and offers Internet access to sites with up-to-date information on acute and chronic pediatric/adolescent illnesses, health promotion and disease prevention issues. Other educational resources include information on healthy nutritional habits and weight-related problems, school issues, stress reduction, overall family management and behavior/discipline issues.

Families also have access to various support groups. Local and national experts, authors and celebrities are invited for special events as part of the Miami Children's Hospital Family Lecture Series. Info Alley welcomes support from the community through donations; either monetary or in the form of books and periodicals.

Info Alley is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
