Outpatient X-Ray Services
Miami Children’s South Dade Center offers outpatient X-rays as one of the imaging services available at our center. We are staffed by registered pediatric technologists utilizing the same protocols being used at the MCH Main Campus. All images are interpreted by our team of specially trained pediatric radiologists at Miami Children’s Hospital via a high speed network connection.
Miami Children’s Hospital’s X-ray department is accredited by the American College of Radiology. A number of the hospital’s radiologists are nationally recognized for their achievements in clinical medicine and research.
Outpatient X-ray service is currently available Monday through Friday, from 2pm to 7pm on a walk-in, first-come-first-serve basis. No appointment is needed, however, a prescription from your child’s doctor is required for this service. Also, bring the child’s insurance card and referral/authorization if required by the insurance plan.

Ultrasound Services
Miami Children’s Hospital South Dade Center offers pediatric ultrasound at this outpatient center. Ultrasound is performed on a state-of-the-art Philips ultrasound system that provides Doppler, 3-D, Sono CT, panoramic, contrast compatible and high-resolution, real-time imaging capabilities.
In addition to state-of-the-art equipment, the MCH South Dade Center is staffed by registered pediatric technologists utilizing the same protocols being used at the MCH Main Campus. All ultrasound images are interpreted by our team of pediatric radiologists at Miami Children’s Hospital via a high speed network connection.
Ultrasound service is currently available by appointment.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Miami Children’s Hospital has expanded its MRI service to the MCH South Dade Center, providing another location for this type of service, exclusively for children. The MRI results are provided on a short-bore General Electric 1.5 Telsa scanner utilizing the same protocols being used at Miami Children’s Hospital, and are read by our team of pediatric radiologists at MCH via a high speed network connection.
Sedation services are provided to children at this location, depending on the child’s need and the type of examination. If needed, the amount and type of sedation will be determined according to your child’s size/weight and age. For more information, please click here.
