Early Steps is one of 15 programs in the State of Florida designed to help children from birth to 36 months of age who have been identified as having, or being at risk for, developmental delays. The program offers multidisciplinary assessments for infants, developing a care plan for thos who qualify. The assessment team includes a primary service coordinator and at least two of the following:
- physical therapist
- occupational therapist
- speech/language therapist
- psychologist
- developmental specialist
- registered nurse
- family resource specialist
The team evaluates the child's strengths and needs in various areas of development, including physical, cognitive, communication, social-emotional and adaptive. The team also recommends appropriate services.
The State of Florida helps to fund some of the treatments and regular follow-up for families with a child who qualifies for these services.

Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
