Camp DMC is a summer program for children with special needs run by Miami Children’s Hospital. The objective of Camp DMC is to provide a fun-filled, educational and behaviorally therapeutic curriculum while enhancing each child’s academic skills, functional communication, fine and gross motor skills and social interactions.
The program is conducted by trained professionals, including certified teachers, behavior specialists, and education aides. Certified Behavior Analysts are on-site at all times. The ratio of staff to children ranges from 1:3 to 1:7. The program welcomes children from 5 to 12 years old.
Children new to the program must participate in a pre-camp screening evaluation. To be considered for participation, all children are required to be fully toilet trained. The program cost is $185 per week. Once accepted, families must commit to their child attending Camp DMC for the duration of the 8-week camp, for a minimum of 6 hours per day. A non-refundable $100 deposit per child is required to reserve.
