Ana Margarita Duarte, MD - Pediatric Dermatologist

 

Director, Division of Dermatology

Dr. Duarte, completed medical school in 1988 at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She continued her training completing two residencies Pediatrics in 1991, and Dermatology in 1995. She also comlpeted a 1 year fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology in 1992. All of her training taking place at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was boarded by the American Board of Medical Subspecialties in Pediatrics and remains boarded in Dermatology and Pediatric Dermatology. She is licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.

In 1995 she was appointed the Director of the Division of Dermatology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and founded the Children’s Skin Center, PA located on the campus of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She is Associate Professor for Nova Southeastern University Department of Dermatology as well as Voluntary Faculty at the University of Miami Department of Dermatology.

Her main area of interest is in the treatment of vascular lesions and in 1995 she developed the Laser Center at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, a center focusing on the laser treatment of vascular lesions. In 2009 she developed and was appointed Director of The International Birthmark Institute (TIBI) at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital: a multidisciplinary team of sub-specialists dedicated to the treatment of all birthmarks with a special focus on vascular anomalies.
