The Miami Children's
Hospital Pediatric Care Center offers full-service pediatric and
adolescent primary and specialty care for children from infancy
up to 21 years of age. The center provides comprehensive, coordinated
and family centered clinical care with the goal of supporting families
in the promotion of children's health and the prevention of childhood
diseases.
The Pediatric
Care Center evaluates children utilizing a family-centered approach
to the following:
- Growth and
development
- Family dynamics
- Safety practices
- Care of acute
and chronic medical conditions.
About
our Services
At Miami Children's Hospital, every child's health is important
to us. We offer a comprehensive array of health services to ensure
healthy growth and development as well as medical control of acute
and chronic conditions. Services of the Pediatric Care Center include:
- Complete
physical examinations
- Vision and
hearing screening
- Immunizations
- Growth and
developmental assessment and referral of children with developmental
delays
- Nutritional
evaluation and promotion of healthy eating habits
- Parenting
education on effective child rearing
- Injury prevention
counseling
- Healthy lifestyles
education
- Diagnosis
and treatment of common childhood ailments, including upper respiratory
infections, ear infections, bronchiolitis, gastrointestinal infections,
urinary tract infections and more.
- On-going
care of children with acute or chronic conditions, such as asthma,
diabetes, genetic disorders, neurological conditions, behavioral
issues and more.
Specialty
Care
Miami
Children's Hospital offers a wide range of specialized services
for children with specific medical conditions. Should specialty
care be required, your child will be referred to a specialist by
his or her primary care pediatrician. Appointments are necessary.
Highly trained
specialists will evaluate and treat your child based on his or her
health needs.
Our
Medical Team
Upon enrollment with the Pediatric Care Center, your child will
be assigned to a physician who will address and coordinate care
based on the child's medical needs.
Primary care health services are provided by Miami Children's pediatric
residents under the supervision of board-certified pediatric physicians.
The sub-specialty clinics are staffed by many of the region's finest
pediatric sub-specialists. The medical team also includes nurses
with special training and experience in the care and treatment of
children of all ages.
Insurance
and Fees
The Pediatric Care Center accepts state health insurance programs
such as Medicaid, Healthy Kids and Florida KidCare as well as other
insurance programs. Please contact our office for additional information
regarding insurance. Services are also available on a fee-for-service
basis. If laboratory tests are necessary, additional fees will be
charged. Payment is due when services are rendered.
Hours
and Scheduling
The
Pediatric Care Center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through
Friday. Our physicians are on-call after hours. Walk-in patients
are welcome, but appointments are recommended. Well-child visits
require an appointment.
