Aquatic
Therapy Program
Aquatic Therapy
utilizes the properties of water coupled with traditional therapy
techniques to provide comprehensive intervention. Aquatic Therapy
is used as a medium to treat children on a one on one basis and
is designed specifically for the child's individual needs. Aquatic
Therapy may compliment existing Occupational Therapy and Physical
Therapy services, or it may be provided as the sole means of therapy.
Occupational
Therapy
Pediatric
Occupational Therapists (OT) provide evaluations and treatments
utilizing therapeutic exercises, sensory integration, and motor
control strategies to assist children in learning how to self regulate
their attnetion and arousal, develop fine motor coordination, age
appropriate play and everyday living skills such as: interpersonal
interactions, feeding, dressing and grooming. In addition, our OTs
also provide hand/upper extremity therapy and splinting services.
Physical
Therapy
Pediatric
Physical Therapists (PT) provide evaluations (including specialized
adaptive equipent evaluations) and treatments with basic gross mobility
skills, neuro-developmental techniques, balance, coordination, motor
control and orthotic management. PT intervention also includes pre-post
botox treatments, kinesio-taping, electrical simulation, and/or
sensory motor approach in order for each child to perform age appropriate
gross motor skills and function within their home and school.
Speech/Language
Pathology Therapy
Speech/Language
Pathologists (SLP) provide evaluations and treatments to assist
children in learning to listen, follow instructions, and functionally
communicate their wants, needs, and feelings appropriately. SLPs
treat children with poor verbal comunication skills, voice disorders,
developmental delays, hearing impairments and auditory processing
disorders. Our team also provdes feeding and swallowing evaluations
and treatments for children with feeding difficulties, feeding tubes,
as well as with a diagnosis of failure to thrive.
